Lil Pump: Harverd Dropout

review pump x1 cong

Ah the States: first they give us Donald Trump, now it’s Lil Pump. All our scatological dreams are coming true. Sadly no musical ones with this debut from Pump.

His schtick is that he’s really smart but dropped out of “Harverd” to rescue rap. He’d probably have been better going to college and doing some good with his life, because this is pretty boring, not to say dumb and stupid.

Opening lyrics: “Dropped out, then I got rich (yeah) / Dropped out, then I put a Patek on my wrist (brrr)”. Impressive; man who can tell the time and talk like a telephone.

How about: “Don’t talk to me, nuh-huh, nuh-uh, nuh-uh / Uh-huh, yeah, ooh, brrt, Lil Pump” or “Racks on racks on racks on racks on racks on racks, bitch (esskeetit, ooh)”.

Stormzy won’t be round his place looking for ideas any time soon, that’s for sure.

Musically it’s minimalistic and slightly annoying. Esskeetit is his catchphrase and means “Let’s get it”. Don’t.
