We reviewed this a few weeks ago but the release date got pushed back and it gave us time to play it a few more times.
We can’t get past the fact that it’s no better than ok.
The album starts off strongly with Monochrome, Spitfire, You’re so Good for Me and A to Z of My Heart, though the 60s sound is now more high school hop than cool garage. The later songs see it go off the boil a bit.
We’d guess the older fans will love it but younger ears will be less impressed. One to buy solely for the purpose of learning the initial songs, then singing along live. We suspect tracks 1-6 or so will do good business on iTunes, the second half less so.
